How we work
n+1 is an Impact Venture Partner. We’re here to participate in the full lifecycle of our partner businesses, aiming to get involved as early as possible, and in it for the long haul.
We partner with founders to build SMEs, attract skills and capital, for maximum positive impact.
We partner with entrepreneurs as co-founders in their companies.
We take ownership of a significant minority of the company.
With this we provide a remote expert management team to coach and support founders, and support services to enable the business to establish.
As partners we coach the founder through the challenges of starting, we enable network and collaborate on strategy wherever possible, and we provide access to debt funding modeled specifically for the business
Who We Are
We believe in the additive value businesses have on their communities, teams, founders and partners. And we believe that the best thing we can do with our own resources is add to the number of thriving businesses and prosperous employees in South Africa.
We start with a team of optimistic believers, coming from different experiences, with different ideas on how we can add value, and make great business for ourselves at the same time. We’ve been finding some kindred spirits along the way
The Early Days of n plus 1
May 2023 sees the launch of our mission. Over 2022 we dived into research, testing, strategy development, and shaping why, how, and in what effective way we could change the local ecosystem for starting new businesses for the better.
We’re off the mark with three great founders that we believe in, in three value adding businesses. Along for the journey are a few great service partners and experts to support us and our founder-partners as the remote management teams. From here our number one priority is to support and build these companies in such a way as to prove the strength of the right early business interventions.
During this time we’ll be building, testing, iterating, panel-beating, and refining our own toolkits and processes for supporting founders from Day 1 through to becoming strong self-standing CEOs.
